Screen Printing
What Is Screen Printing?
Screen printing (is also known as) rubber printing – both are the same.
Screen printing (also known as) rubber printing is the process of applying ink in the form of a design on a piece of fabric squeezed through a screen.
It is like an art on a fabric done by ink squeezed through a screen.
From manual long table printing in 1990s screen printing has now evolved into individual palette based t-shirt fed printing.
This enables sharper precision in printing, exact accuracy in color seating, smooth & flat finish of printing on the fabric.
Designing For Screen Printing

Print design is made in vector format using software like adobe illustrator and coreldraw.
It is advised to save the final design file in pdf format with all the fonts converted to curves.
Perfection, sharpness, precision, and accuracy in this designing process are achieved through the combination of the latest computer-aided designs software and highly skilled human designers.
Color Separation

Color separation is the process of separating colors for film making.
The design will be separated into each color of the design and a film made for each color.
Film Making
The final color-separated design is printed on film through a laser printer or imagesetter.
Imagesetter films are sharper and high resolution than laser printer films.
Screen Making
Screen making is the process of making the screens for screen printing on t-shirts.
A separate screen is made for each film.
Screen Printing
Screens are fitted to the machine individually – one screen per frame.
The print fabric is spread to the palette individually – one fabric per palette.
Required color dyes are applied to the top of the design of each screen.
Color is squeezed through the screen to the fabric through a squeezer.
After one color is finished, the fabric palette is sent through the heat of a flame for drying.
Then, the screen frame is rotated to print the next color.
All the colors are printed one by one.
Fusing
Fusing is the final process of screen printing.
The print finished fabric is placed on the fusing machine.
Fusing paper is placed on the print.
It is then pressed on the print with a high temperature.
Only after fusing, the print is fixed permanently to the fabric.

GSM For T-Shirt Printers
GSM (grams per square meter). The thickness and quality of a t-shirt can be quickly judged by its gsm.

This is an optional process for t-shirt printers only.
The dyed fabric is pre-washed for special specifications with a mixture of some acid and enzymes.
The bio wash process takes place at a very high temperature so that pilling is avoided.
The very small, minute, almost invisible thread protruding on the fabric is cut and break down through this process.
Bio wash makes the fabric very soft, fine, smooth and silky and gives the fabric a uniquely bright and glossy look.
